Can we agree on that?
As women, we often are not given any guidance on what to expect from it other than what we see on television.
Sweat
Other people running away from it
Mood swings
We are conditioned to fear this time in our lives, but what if I told you it can be a much more beautiful and liberating experience? As Black women, especially, we are blocked from getting a lot of information and care. We are pushed to the side and our needs through many phases of life are not properly addressed.
I have created a space to share information. To ask questions. To heal.
are in need of a rebalancing of mind and body when it comes to menopause.
When we are young women and begin our menstrual cycles we at least have the basics. We know which tools to use and it’s almost seen as a rite of passage, but where is that conversation when the menstrual cycle is slowing down?
What tools to we use?
Who has been here before?
What should we expect?
Many ask, “what is happening to me in this moment?” and want to run. I want to encourage you to stay.
Much of the stress we experience around this time is simply from the not knowing.
We don’t know how to respond
We don’t know who we are
We don’t know how we should feel
We are not meant to be the same our entire lives. Just as we grow from babies to children, from children to teenagers and into adulthood, our womanhood experiences a new phase during and after menopause. So, how do we make the most of it?
Understand you have not lost yourself (or your mind!). Change can be scary, but if you know the right things to do, it can be a more intentional and liberating experience.
I take my clients through the education of how to feed their bodies to reduce the symptoms often associated with menopause. We do exercises that explore the mind and give you a space to use your voice and be heard.
As a naturopathic doctor and herbalist, I help women in transition to embrace change and create balance through nutrition, exercise, and customized natural supplements designed to detox, heal and restore your body naturally.
Menopause doesn’t have to happen TO you.
This is the time to connect with the new you who has been waiting to meet you. Open the door wide and welcome her with open arms!
